Sydney - The NDP wants to see legislation that would require ongoing health monitoring of Sydney residents who live near the city's infamous tar ponds. Gordie Gosse, MLA for Cape Breton Nova, introduced legislation last week. The monitoring program, if approved, would be implemented before January. "Every year, the Department of Health would prepare a report on the results of the ongoing program," he said.
