Suzuki coming to speak, tour
Sydney tar ponds
SYDNEY - Environmentalist David Suzuki will get a
first-hand look at the tar ponds in Sydney when he speaks to
Cape Bretoners next month.
The Cape Breton chapter of the Sierra Club of Canada will
host the broadcaster and scientist at the new Membertou Trade
and Convention Centre in Membertou on Jan. 22.
His talk will encompass the environment, the tar ponds and
methods for destroying hazardous wastes.
